Pioneer Press Story Highlights Local Lady Slippers Member
The article follows Lady Slipper banquet chair Eileen Hachey and her husband Mike on a chase for roosters in Wright County with their British Labrador, Paddy. Throughout Eileen describes her thoughts on women in the outdoors, hunting with her husband, and her involvement with the Lady Slippers. Eileen is also the owner of a small online business, shehunts.com, which sells hunting apparel for women.

The Minnesota Lady Slippers have scheduled their fifth banquet for Saturday evening, April 18, 2009.
"You don't have to be a pheasant hunter to come to the Lady Slippers' banquet," explains Heather Gast, the Lady Slippers' former president. "That's the number one question I hear from women interested in coming to the banquet. You don't have to hunt, fish, train dogs, or even bird-watch. You just have to care about the outdoors, the environment, and want to do something to help connect today's youth to the outdoors."
The Ladyslippers' goal is to raise funds to promote conservation education in local schools and education facilities throughout the metro Twin Cities. All of the event's net funds will be spent on schoolyard habitat projects, youth mentor programs, conservation education programs, teacher training, and community-related conservation projects.
